Introducing Skipper Furniture

Skipper Furniture was founded in 1955 by Svend Skipper and was later sold to current owner Tommy Nyberg. He brought the company to Sweden, where it is currently situated. Skipper Furniture develops and produces sofas, chairs, and tables for 2 markets – contract and consumer. In the contract market, we produce furniture for public spaces like healthcare, educational premises, offices, and hotels.

When we develop furniture, our main focus is always the combination of design and comfort. It is important to us that the end user wants to stay seated in our furniture for long periods of time, without them lacking design. Besides the design and comfort aspects, we also focus on flexibility towards the customer, where we offer to adapt our furniture to fit their specific needs.

We have, as an example, adapted one of our soft chairs and made the legs irremovable. This was done so that it can be used in psych wards. We’ve also, upon request, created a 4-meter-long sofa out of two 2-meter-long sofas. In other words – We accommodate our customer’s needs.

We have a strong commitment to Scandinavian design and all of our furniture has been designed by a Scandinavian designer. Besides that, we have a couple of offices in Scandinavia, and the HQ is located in a facility in Knislinge in Sweden. Here we have both an administrative office as well as our factory.

Our latest project – LEHM collection by Skipper has even been featured in the cinematic success Dune.
