Professional customer communication doesn’t stop at high-quality product data — especially in international business, providing offers in the right language is a key success factor. The pCon.basket supports you with a practical feature: custom catalogs can now be used in multiple languages.
In our latest video tutorial, we’ll show you how to easily maintain short texts, long descriptions, and variant texts in multiple languages — for offers that impress, no matter the language.
Clearly structured: how the new catalog format works
Custom catalogs in pCon.basket are based on an Excel template, which has now been extended with three additional worksheets:
- Short Text
- Long Text
- Variant Text
These sheets allow you to manage translations for each field individually. The first column is always named “Article” and refers to the corresponding article number in the main “Articles” sheet. The following columns are assigned to different languages — identified by standardized language codes such as de for German or en for English.
A major advantage: You can expand the template to include additional languages, such as pl for Polish or fr for French — giving you the flexibility to tailor your catalog to your specific needs.
What if a translation is missing?
No translation for a particular language? No problem: in such cases, pCon.basket automatically uses the entry from the main “Articles” sheet. This ensures your offer never contains empty fields — even with incomplete translations, your content remains intact.
In practice: Multilingual quotes in action
You can change the language of an offer in pCon.basket at any time via the header data — for example, from German to French. The item texts will update automatically based on the information in your Excel template.
These changes are applied immediately and can even be made during ongoing quote creation. That means more flexibility and less manual effort.
Conclusion:
With the new multilingual support for custom catalogs, offer creation in pCon.basket becomes even more dynamic. Whether you’re working internationally or targeting different markets — you stay in control of your content and present your offers professionally in any language.
