Smarter planning workflows with pCon.planner 8.14

Planning is evolving, and so is the way you shape your designs. With pCon.planner, we are taking another step toward a more connected and flexible workflow, one where product data, planning, and communication come together seamlessly. This release puts  B2B product configuration at the heart of the planning experience. Product information becomes easier to access; configurations remain consistent across environments, and your workflow stays uninterrupted from the first idea to the final presentation.

Alongside this major step, version 8.14 introduces new tools to enrich drawings, improve clarity, and support collaboration. From flexible comments to enhanced dimensioning and longer-lasting presentations, every improvement is designed to keep your projects moving forward smoothly.

Seamless access and configuration of B2B products

pCon.planner 8.14 connects product data directly to your planning workflow. Through pCon.catalog, the central portal of the pCon Community, B2B catalogs are now integrated alongside public catalogs, giving you access to a broader range of manufacturer content within one consistent environment.

In addition to locally installed product data, users can explore, configure, and use B2B products seamlessly throughout their design process. This brings together detailed product specifications, flexible configuration options, and comprehensive information in a single context.

Online articles automatically follow your project settings, including language, currency, and exchange rates. This ensures that product data fits your planning context without additional adjustments. At the same time, configurations remain synchronized with pCon.catalog and always reflect the latest project information. Pricing is available directly during configuration, helping you better understand costs and make faster decisions while designing.

Depending on your setup, pCon.planner automatically selects the appropriate configuration method. If locally installed OFML data is available, configuration takes place in the Properties Editor. If not, the online configurator is used—provided you are logged in via pCon.login and the respective manufacturer is enabled for your account.

If local and online data differ, the Update Articles function allows you to quickly synchronize your content and maintain consistency across your project.

Say more with comments

Sometimes a drawing needs more than dimensions and furniture; it also needs context. With this new version, comments arrive as a dedicated tool for enriching your plans with additional information, available via the Text drop-down menu on the Start tab under Drawing Elements.

Think of comments as a flexible alternative to texts, allowing you to add explanations to furniture selections. They are ideal for adding context about choices, architectural decisions, or sharing notes with colleagues or clients.

Like Cameras and Lights, comments can be controlled globally or per viewport through the Visibility group on the Start tab, ensuring your drawing shows exactly the level of detail required.

Refined dimension styles (PRO/ME)

Precision in planning is essential. The new Fixed Extension Length option allows you to define consistent extension lines lengths for your dimensions. This small but powerful improvement increases visual clarity and ensures a more professional appearance across your drawings.

Enhanced hatching for walls

With the latest version, wall representation becomes more expressive. You can now apply different line styles to wall hatchings, giving you greater control over visual appearance. Simply add a Hatch in the Properties Editor and define the Line Type and Line Width. A straightforward improvement that adds real depth to your plan.

Working in groups made easier (PRO/ME)

Handling grouped elements is now more efficient, to reduce repetitive steps and keep complex layouts easier to manage. You can apply  B2B catalog functions directly to individual articles inside groups, without ungrouping first.

Additionally, properties can now be transferred to elements within groups or arrangements directly from the  Property Container.

Impress: More time & greater accuracy

Your presentations deserve a proper lifespan. Content shared via impress now remains available for three months instead of one, giving clients and collaborators more time to review and respond.

Additional benefits include:

  • Comments can be included in impress uploads.
  • Hidden elements are automatically excluded.
  • PEC exports now match visible content exactly.

Further improvements

  • Image Editor: Improved performance of rendering images and material textures.
  • Properties Editor: Better transparent image quality.
  • Faster material insertion through optimized navigation and caching.
  • Improved handling of mass article operations.
  • Attachments: Optimized handling including relative paths.
  • More reliable automatic backup creation.
  • Extended API functionality.
  • Improved imports and exports.
