The Company

Arper is an Italian company producing and distributing office, home and contract sector furniture worldwide.

At the end of the 1990s, Arper launched an industrial project that took the company into the design field and led to the use of new materials and technologies. The encounter and fruitful collaboration with the Lievore Altherr Molina design firm led to a series of new products that would turn out to be classics, such as Catifa family.  Other leading international designers, such as Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean-Marie Massaud, Simon Pengelly, Ichiro Iwasaki and James        
 

Irvine brought their different cultural backgrounds, thoughts and languages into the company while interpreting its distinctive style: sleek, sophisticated, contemporary, assuming timeless universal forms capable of fitting perfectly into all settings.

Today Arper collections are distributed via an international sales network and displayed in single-brand showrooms in Milan, Cologne, New York, Stockholm, London.

The Project

Arper started the implementation of pCon some years ago to better satisfy and penetrate the strategic markets of central Europe, in particular Germany, Austria, Benelux and Switzerland. pCon has been available on those markets for years and has a very strong market penetration.

Some of our distributors and important manufacturers in central Europe had implemented pCon into their sales processes. To help them better specify our products we’ve decided to develop our data in the OFML format used by pCon” Arper’s Sales Manager Europe Moira Palandri said. “The adoption of pCon has also helped us to work closer and develop relationships with new partners that were already using pCon.”

After the initial deployment phase focused on the needs of these specific markets Arper is leveraging the investment on pCon to all of its worldwide sales partners. This decision has been fueled by the benefits that the solution provides and by requests received from users already using pCon.

The implementation of pCon has also proved to be a great solution to our internal sales team. We now have the possibility to create electronic proposals without the possibility of making mistakes. Furthermore the process is very simple and fast, allowing non expert users to use it and be more independent”, mentioned Alberto Pinos, Area Manager for Italy. “With pCon.planner we’re also able to create great looking rendered images in a very simple and intuitive way for any one of the million of property combinations possible for our products. This enables us to increase the quality of our proposals which has a direct impact on the customer satisfaction.

pCon.update is a portal which counts with thousands of worldwide professional users which can request the intelligent configurable data from the manufacturers present in the catalog. “We’ve received requests for our data also from unknown companies. In those cases we forward the contact to the agent following that region to determine if we should provide our data” said Moira. “pCon is not only a technical solution that helps us to be more efficient and increase quality but it also has a powerful networking and visibility component for thousands of qualified users.

The power of pCon is immense. It has helped us to close business opportunities which otherwise would have been harder. One of these cases was a project for BMW where the contribution made by the software was decisive in the choice of the customer.” Moira said. “We’re also looking forward to the continuous innovations and creative functionalities that will help us to work in an even more efficient way.
